    Do you screw cap down to check oil?? Or just set it down without screwing it in?

      My FR600V says right on the dipstick as you pull it out "For correct oil level, do not turn cap on threads". Some engines might be different, but that's mine.

    Maintenance for this engine is really nuts. Need to adjust valve settings? What kind of POS engine is this? that's way beyond maintenance. That's periodic engine rebuild

    He used 2 open end wrenches to tighten the drain plug to 61 inch pounds?! What? No torque wrench available? Ha!

    I have a fs730v efi 180hrs valve seal spring missing lots of smoke at start up John Deere replaced the seal spring however where is the spring? in the engine? if it is will the filter catch it before it reaches the oil pump?

    2020 Kawasaki blew up with less than 100 hours do to faulty air filter. Won't honor warranty. You will find out all about Kawasaki when you try to deal with them They blow you off and then ignore you. Never again, stick with Honda or Kolher. They stand behind their products.

    I'm confused. I just got an ariens ikon XD 42 with Kawasaki fr600 engine. Do I need to do an oil change a 5 or 10 or whatever hours as a break in oil change? Manual doesn't state it besides change at 100 hours

      " break in" periods are a myth of sorts...but with that said they recommend changing the oil after the first 8 hours of a new mower

      @@divorcedwhiteman1968 I was told by dealer and Kawasaki that they use break in oil at factory and hook to dyno so set carb and stuff, then they drain. Dealer adds oil and only need to follow the 100 hour schedule.

    I have this exact mower and love the kawasaki engine. From my experience i would install a metal elbow coming from the engine to the rubber oil line out the back. Mine kinks from the 90 degree turn it has to make. That kink will eventually cause a hose fail for me one day.

    My Kawasaki engine 730 V was backfiring bad from my Brand New..Husqvarna mower.. Parked in the garage and decided to check the spark plugs.. Found one plug .025 and the other at .026 manufacturer recommends .030.. the backfire was so loud it sounded like gun fire?.. did this ruin my brand new mower?. thanks.

    My Kawasaki FS 730 V is a royal pain in the balls to change the oil. Impossible to change the filter without getting oil all over the place. And I hate the drain valve also it's made of plastic and it started to leak after two years and I had to replace it. Not an easy chore .

    On the 730 24 horse KAW motor my specs say to change for the first time at 25 hours, is that correct? Also to check the oil level do you screw the dip stick in all the way or just seat it then check? Thanks.

      I would change the oil after 8 to 10 hours of break in. The dipstick should say whether you should screw it in or just stick it in without turning the threads

      You are not supposed to screw the dipstick in just take it out wipe it off reinsert it and then take a reading.

    Is it really open loop? I'd think there'd be more of a safety margin and ability to run leaner and cleaner with a closed loop system utilizing an AFR sensor.

    Sucks they longer sell these. Everyone buys echo or sthil etc. And they don't compare to the Kawi. They will last forever and run much cleaner than the others. I work on them and they were the best equipment and now gone.

    No drop off in speed while mowing? Awesome! I have an FS481V on my eXmark Metro and it idles at 3480 only and slows to 3360 under normal mowing conditions. It only ever idled at 3600 on the day I bought it.

      Correct, it will better regulate the engine RPMs via electronic fuel injection. In regards to your FS engine, you should have your valves & idle speed adjusted at a certified Kawasaki dealer. You can find a local dealer via: www.kawasaki.com/dealerlocatorpower/. Thanks!

      I own a grasscutting biz and use: kawasaki trimmers, kawasaki hedge trimmer, stihl for my chainsaw and Echo for my backpack blowers. And my Exmark 60 inch zero turn has a Kawasaki 23 hp engine....Kawasaki make great products imo. Echo too.
